Emma Hemmingson, Country Manager France, Business Sweden.
Over the past two years, the CCSF has continued to grow significantly, welcoming an increasing number of member companies and strengthening its position as a leading platform for French-Swedish business relations. This growth reflects the dynamism of our community and the strong interest in deeper economic cooperation between France and Sweden.
With a strengthened Board of Directors and an engaged business community, we look forward to another year of promoting French-Swedish cooperation, innovation, investment, and sustainable growth. | | | News from the business community | | | Saab invests in Comand AI to advance next-generation defence capabilities | | | | Photo: Saab | | | At Eurosatory in Paris, Saab announced a new collaboration with French defence technology company Comand AI which is a part of the company's €32 million Series A funding round.
The partnership will strengthen cooperation on AI-driven command-and-control solutions and support the development of next-generation defence capabilities. As part of the collaboration, Saab and Comand AI will work on new software capabilities for GlobalEye, Saab’s airborne early warning and control aircraft, as well as the modernization of existing command-and-control systems.
The investment highlights Saab’s continued commitment to innovation and reinforces growing Swedish-French cooperation within the defence and security sector. | | | Airon secures major French investment for AI Data Center expansion | | | Swedish data center company Airon has secured a multi-billion SEK investment from French infrastructure investor Meanings Capital Partners to accelerate the expansion of its AI data center campus in Lidköping.
The funding will support the construction of two new AI-focused data centers, both expected to be operational before the end of 2027. Once completed, the site will have a total operational capacity of 24 MW, helping meet the growing demand for AI computing power.
According to Airon, the investment will strengthen access to European compute infrastructure as AI adoption continues to accelerate. The company also emphasizes the importance of developing AI infrastructure under European ownership, supporting greater digital resilience and reducing reliance on non-European providers. | | | SJ expands high-speed train order as part of €1.7 billion fleet modernisation programme | | | SJ has ordered 30 new high-speed trains from Alstom as part of a €1.7 billion investment programme to modernise and renew its fleet through 2029.
The Swedish state-owned rail operator has expanded its original 2022 order of 25 Zefiro Express high-speed trains, valued at approximately €700 million, to a total of 30 units. The trains are now marketed as the Avelia Stream Nordic X250. Manufactured by Alstom in Germany, the new trains are designed for a top speed of 250 km/h. However, Sweden's current rail infrastructure limits operating speeds to 200 km/h. SJ expects that the Swedish Transport Administration's (Trafikverket) 2026–2037 investment programme to modernise the national rail network will eventually enable higher operating speeds.
The first trains are scheduled to enter service in December 2027 on the route between Gothenburg and Copenhagen. The investment programme also includes the refurbishment of SJ's X2000 fleet and night trains, as well as the procurement of 25 new regional trains, representing an additional investment of approximately €260 million. | | | The Swedish General Election is just around the corner | | | On 13 September 2026, Sweden will hold its general election.
